Election Commission freezes party name, symbol for both Uddhav, Shinde camps

Guided by the urgency to take an interim call on the ongoing dispute between the two Shiv Sena camps in view of the upcoming assembly bypoll in Andheri East, the Election Commission on Saturday froze the Sena’s reserved poll symbol ‘bow and arrow’ till such time that it determines which of the two factions – the one headed by Uddhav Thackeray or the other by Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde – should be recognised as the ‘real’ Shiv Sena.
